Richard Harriman Wellings

Captain (retired) Richard Harriman Wellings, R.N. (17 August, 1850 – 15 March, 1913) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

At the examination for naval cadetships in December, 1864, Wellings was ranked seventh out of eight candidates accepted as second-class Naval Cadets.[1]

Wellings was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 19 November, 1877.

Wellings was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1893.

Wellings was placed on the Retired List on account of age on 17 August, 1900 and was promoted to the rank of Captain (retired) upon gaining fifteen years' seniority on 30 June, 1908.
