Commander Joseph Honner ( – 16 September, 1940) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Honner was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 23 June, 1880.[1]
Honner was promoted to the rank of Commander on 1 January, 1892.[2]
Command in Nymphe was cut short after just nine weeks due to illness attributable to climate conditions.[3]
He requested to be retired on 21 April, 1897 and was refused. He was appointed to Monarch on 26 January, 1899 and again requested retirement. He was found fit on 28 December 1898 and again refused. This decision was soon reversed, however, and he was retired on 20 January, 1899.[4]
