As of 1901, while serving in the Mediterranean, she was noted as carrying a Jackson W/T set.[8]

In May 1898, the ship received the first gyro-equipped torpedoes ever issued in the Royal Navy: two 18-in R.G.F. Mark IV Torpedoes from the Malta Sub-Depot.[9]
