Rear-Admiral Fischer Burges Watson, C.B.E., D.S.O., Royal Navy (9 September, 1884 – 14 August, 1960) was an officer of the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Watson was promoted to Lieutenant in August, 1905.[1]
As a Lieutenant, Watson was appointed in command of the destroyer Dasher on 26 August, 1909.[2]
On 2 May, 1911, Watson was appointed in command of the destroyer Dee.[3]
Watson was promoted to Lieutenant-Commander in August, 1913.[4]
Watson was promoted to Commander in December, 1914.[5]
As a Commander, Burges Watson was appointed in command of the submarine Shakespeare on 16 September, 1918.[6]
Watson was promoted to Captain in December, 1921.[7]
In April 1924, Watson was appointed in command of the light cruiser Caledon.
On 26 May, 1930, Watson was appointed in command of the battleship Nelson as Flag Captain to Admiral Hodges. He was superseded in her in April, 1935.[8]
Watson was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 17 September, 1935.[9]
