Cecil Edward Eden Carey ( – ) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Carey was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 23 December, 1885. Won the Goodenough Medal.

This concurs with the date of Vaughan-Lee taking up the appointment. Carey therefore could not have taken up his appointment, contrary to the impression given in Cobb, Preparing for Blockade, 276.
