Arthur Ronald Farquhar

Captain (retired) Arthur Ronald Farquhar, D.S.C. (20 April, 1888 – ) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Farquhar was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 1 October, 1910.

Great War

Farquhar was mentioned for his services in the bombardment of the aerodrome at Prosecco (near Trieste) on 29 May, 1917.

Farquhar was appointed in command of the destroyer Trinidad on 10 August, 1918.

Farquhar was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 1 October, 1918.

Post-War

Farquhar was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1924.

Farquhar was placed on the Retired List at his own request with the rank of Captain on 21 April, 1934.

World War II

In August, 1939, Farquhar was appointed Senior Officer, Second Minesweeping Flotilla.

In October, 1941, he was appointed in command of H.M.S. Watchful, which I cannot identify further.
