Admiral SIR Frank Larken, K.C.B., C.M.G., R.N. (15 November, 1875 – 21 January, 1953) was an officer in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Larken was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 14 November, 1896.
Larken was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1907.
He was promoted to the rank of Captain and made a Commodore, 2nd class on 31 December, 1913.
He was appointed command of the second class protected cruiser Doris at the outbreak of war on 1 August, 1914.[1]
In June, 1918, as a Commodore, he relieved Hubert Lynes as Senior Naval Officer, Dunkirk to support the Dover Patrol's operations.[2]
Post-War
After the war, he was appointed command of Valiant.
Larken was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on3 August, 1924.
Larken was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 26 May, 1929.
Larken was promoted to the rank of Admiral on 1 September, 1933. He was placed on the Retired List on 20 September in order to facilitate the promotion of younger officers.
