Commander (retired) John Wilfred Nash, R.N. (3 November, 1877 – 21 January, 1957) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Born in Salford, Wore.
Nash was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 June, 1900.
Nash was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 30 June, 1908. He passed preliminary Italian in October, 1909.
Nash was acquitted by a Court Martial held on 31 October, 1912 for stranding Speedy. The Admiralty felt compelled to chime in that they could not support the rationale leading to the acquittal, and insisted that their dissent be recorded in his service record.
Nash qualified as interpreter in Italian in April, 1919.
Nash was promoted to the rank of Commander on 1 August, 1922.
