Captain (retired) Horace Reid Adams, R.N. (12 January, 1851 – 15 December, 1914) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Born in Surrey.
Adams was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 23 September, 1873. He was awarded a Royal Humane Society Medal in 1874 for his actions after a cutter overturned in October, 1873.
Adams qualified as a Torpedo Lieutenant second-class on 24 March, 1880.
Adams was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1890.
Adams was placed on the Retired List at his own request with the rank of Captain on 20 July, 1898.
