Commander (retired) Gerald Roger Cousins, D.S.C., R.N. (19 April, 1894 – ) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
The son of Law Tutor D. C. Cousins, Esq..
Cousins served first in Bellerophon and then served in Hampshire from 15 December, 1911 until 20 January, 1915. He was then appointed to the destroyer Rattlesnake, in which he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 May, 1916 and served until being appointed to Mosquito on 1 September, 1916.[1]
Cousins was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 May, 1924.[2]
Placed on the Retired List at his own request on 1 April, 1931, Cousins was promoted to the rank of Commander on 19 April, 1934.[3]
World War II
Assistant to Captain in Charge, Lyness and as Executive Officer, Lyness from August 1939 to 25 May, 1940.
He was granted a War Service rank of Captain.
