Captain Duncan Codwise Hill, D.S.O. (10 April, 1900 – ) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
The son of A. S. Hill, Esq., manufacturer. He passed out of the Training Establishment on 1 May 1917 and was appointed to H.M.S. Courageous, in which he served the remainder of the war.
Hill was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 June, 1921.
Hill was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 June, 1929.
Hill was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1935.
Appointed to Nelson as executive officer, vice Atkinson on 20 December, 1940. He temporarily assumed command, vice Captain Troubridge in early January, 1942 until being superseded by Captain Jacomb on 5 April, 1942.
Hill was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1942.
Commanded Cleopatra from 28 April, 1949, vice Reid through 10 January, 1950.
He was placed on the Retired List on 7 July, 1951.
