Commander (retired) John Roderick Johnston, R.N. (21 November, 1889 – ) was an officer in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
The son of a medical doctor.
Johnston was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 1 October, 1912.
Johnston was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 1 October, 1920.
Johnston was promoted to the rank of Commander on 21 November, 1929.
Johnston was appointed in command of the first-class torpedo boat T.B. 8 on 29 July, 1914.[1]
He was appointed in command of the destroyer Myngs on 11 January, 1918.[2]
Post-War
Johnston was placed on the Retired List on 19 April, 1920.
