Rear-Admiral John Arthur Tuke, Royal Navy (18 April, 1857 – 5 January, 1916) was an officer of the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Tuke was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 10 August, 1881.[1]
Tuke was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1895.[2]
Captain
Tuke was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1901.[3]
In January 1905, he assumed command of the first class protected cruiser Theseus.[4] He became Captain of the armoured cruiser Monmouth in April 1906.[5]
He was appointed in command of the battleship Victorious on 1 June, 1908.[6]
Tuke was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 19 July, 1911, vice Fisher,[7] and, in accordance with the provisions of the Order in Council of 8 December, 1903, was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 24 October, 1913.[8]
