Captain Thomas Gilbert Carter, O.B.E., R.N., Retired (19 October, 1884 – ) was an officer in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Born the son of Reverend G. E. Carter in Farnborough, Hants.
Carter was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 June, 1906.[1]
Carter was appointed in command of the destroyer Arun on 17 September, 1911.[2]
Carter was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 30 June, 1914.
Post-War
Carter was appointed in command of the patrol boat P31 on 17 December, 1918.[3]
Carter was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1919.
Carter was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 1 November, 1922. He was promoted to the rank of Captain (retired) on 19 October, 1929.
