Captain Arthur Richard Wright, Royal Navy (27 June, 1831 – 19 August, 1879) was an officer of the Royal Navy.

Early Life & Career

Wright was was appointed a Naval Cadet in 1846. As a Midshipman, he was present at operations against Lagos.[1]

Wright was appointed to Harlequin as a Mate on 25 February, 1852.[2]

Wright was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 8 March, 1854.[3]

Wright was promoted to the rank of Commander on 25 July, 1864.[4]

Wright was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1874. He was appointed in command of Dido on the West Coast of Africa on 27 May, 1879. He died in this appointment of causes we've yet to identify, on 19 August, 1879, and was succeeded in command by Captain Compton Edward Domvile‎.[5][6]
