Commander Morice Blood, R.N., Retired (30 April, 1897 – ) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
The son of retired Major Joseph F. Blood.
Blood emerged from the Training Establishment at the start of the war and was appointed to the armoured cruiser Cornwall. He would serve in her through 7 March, 1917.[1]
Blood requested service in submarines and was pronounced fit for such work on 26 November, 1916. On 2 April, 1917 he was appointed to Dolphin for training in submarines. On 2 June, 1917 he was appointed to Maidstone for service in the boats. By month's end, he was assigned to E 31.[2]
Blood was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 July, 1918, which was adjusted to 15 April, 1918.[3]
Blood was appointed to command submarines tender to Titania from February, 1923 to November, 1924.[4]
Blood was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 April, 1926. He was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 15 January, 1927.[5]
Blood was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 April, 1937.[6]
World War II
He served in the Naval Ordnance Inspection Department.[7]
