Vice-Admiral (retired)Brien Michael Money (11 September, 1880 – 4 April, 1939) was an officer of the Royal Navy during the First World War.
Life & Career
Money was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 February, 1901.[1]
Money was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1912.[2]
As a Commander, Money was appointed in command of the destroyer Acheron on 31 March, 1914.[3]
Money was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1917.[4]
He was made captain of flotilla leader Douglas in November, 1918,[5] serving as Captain (D) of the Eleventh Destroyer Flotilla through the German High Sea Fleet's surrender in November 1918.[Citation needed]
He would remain in the Navy after the war and was appointed Captain of the light cruiser Concord in June, 1921.
In May 1924, Money was appointed as Director of Torpedoes and Mining (Royal Navy). Money would serve in the role until he was appointed as commander of Eagle, between 1 October 1926 and 1 June 1928.[6]
