Rear-Admiral Arthur Cecil Curtis, R.N. (Retired) (27 February, 1836 – 10 July, 1895)[1] served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Curtis was promoted to the rank of Captain on 16 February, 1877.
He vacated his appointment as Flag Captain at the Nore on 12 July 1890. He was promoted to Rear-Admiral on the Retired List in January 1892.[2].
Curtis died on 10 July 1895 after paying a visit to H.M.S. Repulse, moored with the rest of the Channel Squadron at Spithead. He had embarked in a pinnace, to return to the Dockyard with Captain Humpage, when, without warning, he fell forward, dead.[3]
