Claude Preston Hermon-Hodge
Rear-Admiral THE HONOURABLE Claude Preston Hermon-Hodge, D.S.C., R.N. (20 January, 1888 – 25 March, 1952) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Born in Wyfold Court, Checkendon Henley the son of Sir R. J. Hermon-Hodge, Baronet.
Hermon-Hodge was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 July, 1909.
Hermon-Hodge was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 July, 1917.
Post-War
Hermon-Hodge was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1922.
Hermon-Hodge was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1930.
World War II
Hermon-Hodge was appointed in temporary command of H.M.S. President on 22 June, 1940 vice Fraser, to serve in the rank of Captain. He was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 25 June, 1940 and was placed on the Retired List the next day.
