Vice-Admiral (retired) William Burley Grant, (29 January, 1830 – 9 July, 1908) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Grant was one of several heirs to a patent his father obtained for "Improvements in Ships' Cooking Apparatus".[1]

Grant was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 27 December, 1852.

Grant was promoted to the rank of Commander on 20 August, 1861.

Grant was promoted to the rank of Captain on 15 April, 1867.

Grant was placed on the Retired List due to age on 29 January, 1885 at the rank of Rear-Admiral. He was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 4 January, 1891.
