Captain Cyril George Bucknill Coltart, C.V.O., R.N. (9 May, 1889 – ) was an officer in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
The son of W. W. Coltart, Esq., surgeon was born in Epsom.
Coltart was once arrested by Bruce Fraser for stealing Robert Keith Arbuthnot's barge to return from a dance held ashore.[1]
Captain Kerr wrote in January, 1907 that Coltart, then in Drake, was "v. sharp & intelligent. Will turn out very well unless his sharp wits get him into trouble."
Coltart was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 31 December, 1911.[2]
Coltart was appointed in command of the submarine L 20 on 17 October, 1918.[3]
Post-War
Coltart was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 31 December, 1919.
Coltart was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1925.
Coltart was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1932.
World War II
Placed on the Retired List on 6 February, 1942.
